Hawthorne Township Justice Court | Honorable Robert Hoferer Jr.

The purpose of the Justice Court is to serve the public, law enforcement agencies, and other public and private organizations in court-related matters involving criminal, civil, small claims, protection orders, and landlord / tenant actions, in and out of the courtroom, as well as to make decisions based on law, which affect the outcome of those cases.

It is the mission of the Justice Court to provide a quality and professional judicial institution for the people of Mineral County, serving both private and public, individual and organization, by the just application of the laws and ordinances which govern this jurisdiction.

Civil Infractions

If you have been issued a citation alleging that you have committed one or more civil infractions, there are two options to handle your civil infractions:

CONTESTED VIOLATIONS
If you wish to contest the civil infraction, a Civil Infraction Response Form must be completed and submitted in person or by email to the Traffic Clerk at the Hawthorne Township Justice Court. You must also pay a bond (Cashiers Check or Money Order Only) in the full amount of the civil penalty, the administrative assessments, and any fees specified on the citation. Once both the Civil Infraction Response Form and the bond are received, you will be provided with a Contested Hearing date and additional information related to the hearing. There will be no negotiations offered at the contested hearing.

UNCONTESTED VIOLATIONS
If you do not wish to contest your civil infraction, a payment can be made on www.HawthorneTix.com, or by mailing in a money order or cashiers check to the court.
By making a payment you are agreeing to pay the total penalty amount. A record of conviction will be forwarded to the Department of Motor Vehicles (or the issuing state of your drivers license).

Criminal Traffic Violations

If you were issued a citation alleging you have committed one or more criminal traffic violations, you have two options:
